Sara Paxton and a host of stars were at the film screening of “Shark Night 3D” last night at Universal CityWalk in LA. Other names in attendance included Alyssa Diaz and Dustin Milligan. It’s billed as a horror/thriller.

Every once in a while you get one of those films that just one look at the film title and the film poster raises a bit of a chuckle accompanied by a gentle shaking of the head whilst muttering “B Movie”. Shark Night 3D looks to be one of those films, for me anyway. It’s in 3D, may help, may not, and sounds and looks very similar to the Piranha 3D that met with a not too glowing critical response which was also backed up by slow box office numbers only this time it’s got errr Sharks in it.
Plot
The story revolves around seven male and female college friends from Tulane University who spend a weekend at a lake house near Louisiana’s Lake Pontchartrain. Shortly after their arrival, the group experiences terrifying salt-water shark attacks. Unbeknownst to them, they may have just stepped onto the playing-field of someone’s idea of entertainment. What’s the general vibe on this film? Rotten Tomatoes are slightly above neutral with 57% which is a surprisingly and head scratchingly good start. Out of morbid celebrity blogger curiosity and delving just a little bit deeper a review from the Orlando Sentinel confirms my earlier suspicions as follows:
Seven Tulane students plus two Bayou rednecks plus scores of sharks plus 3D adds up to zero fun in “Shark Night 3D,” the worst movie of the summer, arriving on the last weekend of the summer. Rating 1 star

I think we’ll leave it there! The film is set for a release date of 2 September as in today and comes out at the same time as Apollo 18? If you are into shark gore then this maybe for you. If you like B Movies this could be your thing as well?
