Kate Winslet and the 2011 Prime Time Emmy Awards Winners and Show Photos!

The 2011 Prime Time Emmy Awards were held last night and were hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch who managed to crack some thigh slapping gags during her night of presenttation including lines such as  Betty White‘s presence requiring an earlier start time for the show....ouch!. Just a slight bit of ageism there. Gays were also in the firing line and taking it on the chin amongst others. Grab the In Show photo highlights Photos

The Emmy's now in it's 63rd outing are said by many to be the Academy Awards for TV focusing on stateside shows and the actors and actresses within those shows. The stars were obviously out for this one see our seperate article on the 2011 Emmy Red Carpet Arrivals including who was there and obviously who was wearing what and who got it right and who......well.....................get it very wrong?.

The ceremony has suffered from a few glitches in the past with over runs and lack lustre hosting amongst other niggles but 2010 was the year that all that changed and was a tough act to follow but the general verdict for 2011 was "more of the same" as in a decent awards ceremony which it should be, considering it's status within the awards season.

A good distribution of awards throughout this event with the most prominent being Friday Night Lights, Modern Family and The DailyShow mopping up at least two gongs a piece.  Melissa McCarthy seems to be grabbing the headlines but Kate Winslet grabs the headline for us, as she was in the HBO produced Mildred Pierce and won the Best Actress in a  Miniseries or Movie Award. Nice to see such supreme acting talents also getting recognised in a leading TV awards ceremony as well as film!
