This headline came out Stateside earlier, thought a closer look was in order just taking a different angle from the cold factual news headline style or going down the goss goss goss route as Fame Fad is not only about Celebrity News but also Fame Culture and taking a closer look at what it’s like to be a celeb.

Reese Witherspoon was rushed to a Santa Monica hospital around 11am this morning, after a car struck the actress while she was jogging. Law enforcement tells TMZ, Reese’s injuries were very minor — nothing life-threatening. According to law enforcement, the driver was an 84-year-old woman. We’re told Reese was crossing the street at the time of the accident … and the driver failed to stop.The driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian and released.
EXTRA: 7:30 PM: A rep for Reese tells TMZ, the actress has since left the hospital and is now resting comfortably at home.
An interesting headline this one. The initial reaction to this headline was “Who the hell would want to run down the ray of sunshine that is Reese Witherspoon?”. Delving deeper Reese Witherspoon is obviously fine that’s the main thing and she was was very lucky indeed the driver is also fine but probably in a state of shock. . Obviously this 84 year old woman was not on a mission to run down Reese Witherspoon it’s just her age means her reactions are considerably slowed down and the ability to react to somebody appearing on a crossing quickly whilst jogging is severely reduced.
BUT it just goes to show, and this has been said many times by myself, just because you are a celebrity doesn’t mean you are immune from lifes rules and dangers. Even something we take for granted such as crossing a road whether you are Reese Witherspoon or not carries risk, and you just don’t know what is around the corner. Celebrity status and all the money in the world cannot eradicate that danger, something I think Reese Witherspoon is probably aware of now but more so than before this incident!
