Some latest news and developments concerning the Famefad Blog/Website that may be of interest to regulars and other visitors of the occasional variety. Been a bit of a strange day today with certain little things throughout the day popping up in various places sparking off some new ideas of how to improve Famefad and other things associated with it ,as it’s going to be getting busy on here in the coming months and this has already started this week..

Here’s the latest developments and ideas that have surfaced from today that will be taking effect immediately or in the very near future.

Film Reviews: These have been done every Friday with reviews of the latest  UK film releases, they take hours and get some interest but not heaps and I’ve had a closer look as to why?  Looking at the competition a lot do reviews sometimes weeks earlier and normally around about the time the film premiere takes place. Which has got  me thinking and what we have already started doing is adding film details, trailer and review at the time of the premiere instead of when the film is released. That’s the way we will be going with this from now on which means Friday film reviews have been scrapped with immediate effect which frees up a lot of time on Friday night and means I can have a night out on Friday chasing after scantily clad women,  which is much more interesting than stuck indoors writing film reviews…………….if you get my meaning!

Blog Comments:  We get heaps of blog comments at Famefad, a lot are very clever spam but spam none the less and we tend to ignore them. That will be changing from now on, if you’ve got something to say or simply want to promote a cause or anything else or have a new website you want people to know about that people may find interesting that is not spammy then we will be approving these comments from now onwards. If you think Famefad is cr*p and needs improving and you’ve got some suggestions we’ll look at those as well.  If there was something wrong with a blog article or the facts were wrong, hit us with that as well. Just adds another dimension to the blog and gets people involved more.

Newsletter/Email; Subscription:  Getting a few requests on a regular basis asking whether there is a newsletter or email subscription membership. We used to have this service with the previous blog t but dropped it on this new blog to keep things lean and streamlined and the server load low to help keeps things running smoothly. This will be changing in the coming weeks and some sort of email subscription or newsletter may be on the cards. The email subscription is particularly interesting as there are systems out there that can be integrated into this blog that could say email you when there is an Angelina Jolie update or when the keyword “premiere” pops up or when the tag “wardrobe malfunction” turns up or anything else. Sky’s the limit on that. When it happens an announcement will be made.

Fashion:  As has been said many a time, Fashion is not my bag BUT it is an important part of celebrity life and with the Spring 2012 Fashion shows of New York, Paris, Milan and London either happening now or will be in the coming weeks focus will be increasing on these events as there are a lot of women floating around this site and that’s what you lot are into. This has already started to take effect from today. Split it would be said is probably 60% women/40% men on this blog and always has been. This site will not be turning into a handbag.com,  not now or ever, if you want that go there, but fashion will feature a bit more prominently with news on what is going on in the fashion world as in events and of course celebrities who are there at the event. BitchyBabe my part time helper may get more involved with that aspect as she’s very good on the fashion thing and she’s a woman, and I’m,  well being a geezer,  “total cr@p” with a Capital C!

Facebook:  After a recent check Facebook is currently on a massive 82 followers (haven’t checked for about 2 months) which is grim, will be looking to stick at least 1 zero and maybe 2 on the end of that in some shape or form in the coming months. That’s where famefad should be in Facebook terms looking around at some of the competition. .Still not sure what to do with this Facebook page yet, could feature gossip on there as this site is not really gossip focused, maybe celebrity events in a calendar form, maybe a forum with questions and answers, maybe famefad website news, maybe competitions, maybe all those combined. It’s been sitting there since about May this year doing nothing, it’s about time we did something with it. Twitter is the in thing at the moment with most Twitter users saying they prefer it to Facebook, but a lot of adverts on TV for big name companies always list their Facebook Page on the TV ad and not Twitter which must say something for Facebook. Will be looking around at some of these big name companies and see how they use Facebook along with major Celebs. This could take months or it could take a couple of weeks. Whatever emerges from that could make our Twitter Page look very simplisitc in comparison. Again there will be an announcement on Twitter and on this main blog.

Twitter:  Twitter is a very important part of Famefad now as it enables live news updates in real time quickly and effectively and allows me to keep an eye on the competition but also unfortunately allows them to keep an eye on me, but as the saying goes “keep your friends close but your enemies closer”. The famefad Twitter account was opened November last year but has only been actively used since Mid April 2011 which is about 5 months or so and in that  time has gained  nearly 3.5K followers and rising. That’s a level that some competitiors have taken a couple of years to achieve. Even after 5 months though I can personally say I am still not a great fan of Twitter which is demonstrated by my relatively short spans of time that I spend on it during the day as in 12-6pm and only Monday-Friday. Some competition are there from first thing in the morning till last thing at night 7 days a week. I have also had some quite rough dealings on there with some people and problems with stalking and god knows what else but stick at it because if you’re not on Twitter you’re “missing the party”. and are a nobody if you are not actively on it. Loyalty is a word that I don’t associate with Twitter either, it’s on Facebook the follower numbers on their are rock solid,  on Twitter they are up and down like the stock market, say the wrong thing or have a bad day or put out a wrong headline out and people just disappear and unfollow and I do the same, something I probably wouldn’t do in the real world. Not my thing at all. Loyalty is a very very important thing to me and anything that doesn’t encourage it or doesn’t demonstrate it I have to say I’m not that keen on hence why I’m not that much of a fan of Twitter even now.  BUT it is very effective for communicating and getting messages across and does that well and it’s FREE!.

Google +  we are currently not on Google +. some people I know have used it and say it’s not that much different to Facebook and have stuck with Facebook as a result. Will be taking a closer look in the future but if there’s not much difference we will probably just stick with the tried and tested Facebbok page.

Some of the developments heading your way in the coming weeks, keep your eyes peeled for further annoucements!
